Deron Douglas Sullivan, 39, of New Albany, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
Deron was born May 17, 1980 in Louisville. He was a 1998 graduate of New Albany High School and earned his college degree from Indiana University Southeast. A born contrarian, he was a Purdue fan in a household of Hoosiers and cheered for the St. Louis Cardinals when the rest of the family rooted for the Reds. He was a talented cook who spent most of his adult life working in the food services industry, including over a dozen years as the head chef at Outback Steakhouse in Clarksville.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Elmore and Katherine Fitzner, paternal grandparents Don and Marylouise Sullivan, as well as stepfather Gary Solodkin.
Deron is survived by his mother Beverly Fitzner, father Pat Sullivan and stepmother Judy Sullivan, brothers Brian Sullivan (Meg) and Jeff Sullivan (Jessica) and stepsisters Stacy Solodkin, Lisa Miller and Michelle Miller. He was a loving uncle to nieces Kiley, Katie, Ella and Moira. He was also very close with his cousin Sarah Teeters (Jay) and their daughters Stella and Addington.
Visitation with the family will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in New Albany on Sunday, February 23rd starting at 2:00pm with a memorial service at 3:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Deron's honor to Haven House in Jeffersonville.
