Greatto “Greya/Greta” Dam Pruitt, was born on October 26, 1946, to Gertrude and Sam Dam. Sorrowfully on August 19, 2020, Greatto moved on to be with Christ.
Greya was a virtuous, kind-hearted, loving women of GOD; who didn’t mind helping anyone if she could. Greatto was not given the opportunity to become a mother, but she was a sister, aunt and friend to so many. She was a factory worker for more than thirty years at Mother’s Cookies, now known as Kellogg’s in Louisville, KY. Greatto enjoyed having a good time with friends and loved travelling and shopping for great deals. She was the kind of woman that did not care what anyone thought of her, she loved living her life the way that she wanted.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Gertrude Dam; brothers, Lawrence Britt, Justice Dam, Peace Dam and her half-brother, Dan Harris and sister, Amalia Dam and half-sister, Charolett Martin.
Left to celebrate her loving memories are her brother, Dean Emerson; nieces, Doris Dam Bradshaw, Susan Dam and Stella Johnson; nephews, Vincent Dam, Nicky Dam, Dewayne Dam, Barry Dam, Dean Wright, William Charter, Brandon and Anthony; great-nieces and great-nephews, Irene Dam, Tiffany Dam, Rosemary Seymore, Krystal Seymore, Jaron Dam, Shawn Dam, Haratio Hoppes, Nicholas Lewis, Jessica Lewis, Kara Lewis, Sidonia Whitehead and a host of great-great nieces, great-great nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2020, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, IN, from 10am-12pm with a celebration of Greatto’s life beginning at 12pm.
Greatto will be laid to rest at Walnut Ridge Cemetery, 2421 Hamburg Pike, Jeffersonville, IN.
