Lawrence W. James “Larry”, 68, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Clark Memorial Hospital. Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Larry was born on March 6, 1952 to the late Clifton and Kathleen James. He was known by many as a hard worker, and held a job for the city of Jeffersonville in Waste Water Management for 25 years. He then went on to work in Waste Water Management for both AW Goodman and Campbell’s Soup for several years.
Larry was so much more than his work ethic though. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He adored time spent with family, and his genuine and humorous spirit brought joy to all who knew him. Larry also loved grilling out and cheering on his Hoosiers during basketball season.
Along with his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brothers, Butch and Duke James.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie James; children, Penni Sutton (Shawn), Chasity James (Leon), Karri Hamlett-Bedan (Joe), Joshua Savage (Angie), and Kyle Savage (Felicia); grandchildren, Brad, Haley, Nathan, Sydney, Noah, Journey, Joplin, Kaitlyn, Henry, Andrew, Zane, and Zakk; great-grandson, Braydon; and siblings, Lucille Nichols, Steve James (Carol), Connie Coffey (Doug), and Ronnie James; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
