Mattie Powell Lott, 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at her family’s residence. She was born on July 5, 1940 in Carroll County, Mississippi the daughter of the late George and Augusta (Brown) Foreman. Mattie retired after 22 years with Bush Stadium as an elevator greeter. She was our family caregiver who was loved by all who met her and always spoke of how blessed she was to have so much love in her life. Mattie touched so many lives and accepted each of us as we are and gave all she had to give. She was inspiring, loving and humble and taught us how to love, respect and cherish life.
In addition to her parents Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Lott Sr.; sisters; Willie Mae Wilson, Doretha Foreman; brothers, Zelner and George Foreman; grandson, Wendall Jr.. She is survived by her daughter, Ethel Brooks(Wendell); adopted daughter, Zeona Bender(Tony); daughter-in-law, Eva Lott; sons, J.D. Lott(Michele), Victor Lott, Christopher Lott(Danica), Curtis Lott, Jerome Lott; grandchildren, Victoria Lott, Bianca Lott, Christopher II, Candice Lott, Kenya Lott, Edward Jerome Jr., Aaron and Phillip Lott, Michael McGuire, Jennifer, Barbara, Robert Curtis and Michael Brooks along with 8 great-grandchildren.
There will be a service held on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 1pm with a visitation before from 11-1pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
